OAHCR is a statewide organization of professionals who have joined together to:

1. Promote and exchange sound and ethical principles and values of recruitment.
2. Network/share pertinent information on recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals.

OAHCR had its beginning in the spring of 1978. A group of nurse recruiters in Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas met to discuss mutual concerns and share information. They found the meeting beneficial to all. These recruiters encouraged others to join this organization and contribute their expertise.

This group has now become the Oklahoma Association of Healthcare Recruitment, reflecting the varied fields of recruitment in today's healthcare environment.
